In an effort to reduce the cost and time associated with paper mailings, we’ve established an email mailing list that will allow us to keep everyone informed of important community events.  Please click here to sign up.

We will keep the amount of email to a minimum — we expect no more than one or two emails per month at most — and have signed up with MailChimp.com to manage the system.  They have a strict privacy policy, and your email address will not be shared, sold, or otherwise disclosed for any reason.

Our landscape company, HLS, has completed the process of installing drainage trenches to alleviate the water problems in the common area between Oakville and Goose Cross.  We expect this will resolve the problem, but ask residents to help the Board keep an eye on this area after heavy rains and let us know if any problems persist.

Temple Church will hold a public hearing on zoning variance requests.  This is in regards to a proposed church and private school at the intersection of Ashburn Village and Waxpool.   If you have interest or concerns about this project, this is the time to attend.  Details below.

Temple Church Hearing

There is a drainage problem in the common area between Oakville and Goose Cross.  Because of the amount of utilities running through this section of the property, the land could not simply be re-graded.  We’ve contracted with HLS, who also does our landscaping, to provide a solution.  The most promising option involves digging drainage troughs down the length of the property, and then (potentially) tying in each property’s downspouts to those drains.  More to come as we get closer to approving a detailed plan.

As many of you are already aware, the property across Shellhorn from us is being developed into apartments, with road construction likely to start in 2010.

Here is an aerial view of the property, as well as drawings of the property entrance, the clubhouse, and what the buildings will look like.

A traffic study was conducted as well, and lists some of the changes to surrounding roads that will be made.

Stay tuned for more information!
